OLD TOOLS BACKGROUND
Oldtools.co.uk is a family run company recently developed by Matthew
Francis. Matt trained as a carpenter, following in the footsteps
of his father, before deciding to try his hand at computing. Matt
soon found that his fathers passion and enthusiasm for his trade
and more especially old woodworking tools had passed onto him. The
history went beyond this: one of Matts grandfathers was in engineering
and the other had his origins in farming. This has led to some interesting
finds in their sheds, some of which are on the oldtools.co.uk website.
OLD TOOLS TEAM
The Old Tools team consists of an experienced working party of experts
in Carpentry, Woodworking Tools, Retail, Marketing and IT. Members
of the Old Tools staff spend many hours trawling UK auctions and
antique fairs in search of quality, highly desired old wood working
tools so that you don’t have to. The Old Tools team recognised
early on that there are only a limited number of places to obtain
antique wood working tools, that most people don’t want to
spend their weekends traipsing about their local area in hope that
they might find what they are looking for, and that the Internet
allows collectors to obtain the exact old tool collectables that
they desire. The Old Tools online shop combines these factors to
