A collection of six boxwood handled woodworking gouges by Marples. This tool collection includes:
1 x 26mm (1") wide, out-cannel,
1 x 20mm (3/4") wide out-cannel,
1 x 17mm (5/8") wide out-cannel (has chip to striking end of handle and 2 cracks 35mm (1 1/4") long.
1 x 13mm (1/2") wide out-cannel,
1 x 13mm (1/2") wide in-cannel,
1 x 10mm (7/16") wide out-cannel.
This collection of Marples woodworking gouges measure from 254mm (10") long up to 280mm (11") long overall.

1 x 12mm straight skew chisel,
1 x 15mm deep straight gouge,

Collection of three boxwood handled gouges made by Wm Marples. All three gouges retain the original Marples décor to their handles. All three woodworking gouges are in fine condition and appear to have had little use.

An ash handled drawknife, marked to blade W.Marples & Sons Cast Steel. Retains a good length blade along with a nice leather sheath. There is a thin crack to its handle (see photo). A nice old tool with a good clean blade.

A little used beech smoother by Marples. Retains near full length cutter marked Marples & Sons Sheffield England. Body measures 10” long by 2 3/4" wide. A good clean Marples smoothing plane that retains much of the original decal.

Two marking gauges by Marples includes a rosewood marking gauge with a knurled brass locking nut and running strips. This gauge is marked Joseph Marples Ltd Sheffield. The second gauge is a slitting gauge made from beech with brass running strips. This tool's marked Marples made in England no 2083.

Boxwood handled paring chisel with brass ferule, blades marked W.Marples & Sons Sheffield England and measures 37mm (1 15/32") wide, blade to ferule measures 249mm (9 3/4") long and overall this woodworking chisel measures 410mm (16 2/8") long. Blade has some light staining and the handle of this Marples paring chisel has a few minor dents.

Two Cranked Paring Gouges by Marples. Largest woodworking gouge measures 31mm (1 1/4") wide by 405mm (15 13/16") long overall, blade to ferule measures 242mm. the second Marples gouge measures 25mm (1") wide by 392mm (15 3/8") long overall, blade to ferule measures 243mm long. Both cranked gouges have some light black staining/ very minor pitting. Two good useable Marples paring gouges.
